Rooted in Family, Rising in Community ✨
If you’ve ever stepped into The Yoga Haven, you’ve felt it—that quiet hum of belonging, the gentle invitation to breathe, and the sense that this space was created with deep intention. What you may not know is that this studio was born not just from a love of yoga… but from a life that’s anything but conventional.
I’m a mother of three beautiful, spirited girls—each with their own spark, their own rhythm, and their own way of keeping me grounded in the present moment. During the week, my husband travels for work, which means I’m a one-woman show with a rotating cast of responsibilities: solo parent, small business owner, caregiver, dog walker, Band-Aid retriever, and bedtime storyteller. Our days are full, our routines layered, and our home is a swirl of laughter, logistics, and love.
Among my daughters, our youngest has reshaped the way I see the world. She was born with an extremely rare condition called chromosomal microdeletion syndrome (17q.2133), which means she’s missing a large portion of her 17th chromosome, including the gene responsible for producing collagen in her bones. Her bones are fragile, and the risk of fractures is constant. Something as gentle as a walk through the yard or a tumble during play can lead to yet another broken bone. On top of that, she has autism, which brings a fearless, high-energy spirit to her every move. She’s curious, bold, and always on the go—an explorer of life with no concept of danger. (Yes, what an awful combination! Send help😂)
But, despite the intensity of our home life, my heart has always been pulled toward something bigger: sharing yoga with my community. Yoga has been my refuge, my reset, and my way of connecting with not only myself… but other parents, families, and people who know the chaos of daily life.
That sliver of time on the mat—where breath meets stillness—is sacred.
However, when we moved The Yoga Haven to our downtown location, I felt a tremendous shift in my teaching. The space was beautiful, yes—but it also brought new challenges. Accessibility, parking, and external disruptions made it hard… but, behind the scenes, I was carrying the full weight of running a small business. There’s a truth I’ve come to know intimately: being a small business owner means wearing every hat, often all at once. The administrative side—scheduling, software transitions, finances, team building, outreach—can feel isolating, especially when the heart of the work is so deeply personal. There have been days when the weight of it all settled heavily—when I quietly wondered if I could continue holding space for others while trying to keep the pieces of my own world intact.
But here’s the thing: I believe in this studio. I believe in this community. I believe in the power of movement to heal, to connect, and to uplift. I’ve come to trust that when we pause long enough to truly listen, the next step begins to take shape—quietly, steadily, in the direction of what matters most.
In this next chapter, I’m not just relocating—I’m realigning. The new space offers more than accessibility and quiet; it offers connection.. for you… and for me. I’ll be supported by one who understands the rhythm of creative work, the pulse of community, and the delicate balance of passion and practicality. There’s something beautiful about a couple of kindred spirits—those who move through their art with both grace and grit—that has gently begun to reignite the light in my eyes.
It’s a quiet kind of support, but it’s powerful.
It reminds me that I don’t have to do this alone.
This move reflects a deeper alignment—with the values that ground me, the community we’ve nurtured, and the promise I’ve made to my daughters—that my work will always rise from love, not from sacrifice. It’s a chance to allow The Yoga Haven to grow with intention, in a space where creativity and care unite. And through it all, my girls remain my compass—reminding me what it means to lead with tenderness, resilience, and joy.
Thank you for walking this path with me—your presence has brought meaning to every step. As we prepare to settle into a space where movement and artistry softly intertwine, I’m filled with gratitude for the chance to grow, supported and inspired, while staying rooted in what matters most. The next chapter is slowly unfolding, and it is almost time to welcome you into it!
